Rite of Ordination - 18 May 2013 : Rite of Ordination - Sacred Order of Deacon - Baltimore Basilica **** GALLERY IS A WORK IN PROGRESS CHECK BACK OFTEN FOR UPDATES **** On this very special day, after many months of arduous study, family and friends gathered together at the "Baltimore Basilica", to bear witness and celebrate the "Ordination of the Sacred Order of Deacon", bestowed upon "Candidate" Joseph Langan. The "Ordination to the "Sacred Order of Deacon was officiated by the most reverened "William E. Lori Archbishop Baltimore". Each Candidate throughout their course of study leading up to the "Rite of Ordination" is assigned a "Sponsor". This person made the event even more special, that being "Reverened Monsignor Arthur Valenzano" who has known and been involved with the life of "Deacon Joseph Langan" since he was a baby, who presented the "Diaconal stole and Dalmatic" for the first time as his sponsor. Congratulations to "Deacon Joseph Langan" and his future endeavors of service to the parishioners of the Roman Catholic Church. For those of you who were not fortunate enough with being able to attend this wonderful ceremony, enjoy!

Sydney's First Communion - 12 May 2013 : Sydney's First Communion - Mother's Day - St. Vincent de Paul Church Baltimore This particular "Mother's Day" was not your ordinary, run of the mill "Mother's Day", oh no, it just so happens to be your "2 for 1" special. Our very own Sydney along with three of her classmates were to receive and celebrate their "First Holy Communion". Sydney was very excited to say the least with doing the "First Reading" for the ceremony, which was Acts 1:1-11, she did "AWESOME"! The children also could not curb their enthusiasm with passing out the bulletin's to everyone as they came thru and were "ambushed" at the front door!. Everyone's family and friends gathered at "St. Vincent de Paul Church Baltimore" to witness this special occasion taking place with the help of Father Richard Lawrence. Hoping everyone's "Mother's Day" was just as special, because it most definitely was for my Wife and Daughter! Enjoy!

Arlington National Cemetery - 23 May 2013 : Arlington National Cemetery - Flags-in - Washington DC **** GALLERY IS A WORK IN PROGRESS CHECK BACK OFTEN FOR UPDATES **** I offer my prayer and condolences during this "Memorial Day" holiday, to the families of love one's lost, as fellow Brother and Sisters in arms are brought here, rest in peace, you are home. Each year for the past 40 years, the 3rd U.S. Infantry (The Old Guard) has honored America's fallen heroes by placing American flags before the gravestones and niches of service members buried at both Arlington National Cemetery and the U.S. Soldier's and Airmen's Home National Cemetery just prior to Memorial Day weekend. This tradition, known as "flags in," has been conducted annually since The Old Guard was designated as the Army's official ceremonial unit in 1948. Every available soldier in the 3rd U.S. Infantry participates, placing small American flags one foot in front and centered before each grave marker. During an approximately three-hour period, the soldiers place flags in front of more than 260,000 gravestones and about 7,300 niches at the cemetery's columbarium. Another 13,500 flags are placed at the Soldier's and Airmen's Cemetery. As part of this yearly memorial activity, Old Guard soldiers remain in the cemetery throughout the weekend, ensuring that a flag remains at each gravestone. American flags are also placed at the graves of each of the four unknown service men interred at the Tomb of the Unknowns, by the Tomb Sentinels. All flags are removed after Memorial Day before each cemetery is opened to the public.
