McKeldin Area Park Quest - 31 Aug 2013
This Park Quest took place in the "McKeldin Area" within the "Patapsco Valley State Park". Which consisted of "Frisbee golf" and I mistakenly thought this would be a very easy, straight forward, "walk in the park" if you will, boy was I ever so wrong! The kids were totally into it, though it took all of us a lot longer to finish than we first thought, did a lot of walking up and down hills on this quest!
Having to throw, flick or sling a Frisbee into a metal basket, where the distance was anywhere from 75 to 200 feet was a real challenge, especially when you have lots and lots of "trees", in between you and the metal basket for most of the 9 holes we played.
We got an up close look at how the "pros" play this game, when a two guy league team caught up to us, I believe was at hole 9 and let them get in front, showing us their custom Frisbee's, as we watched their disc glide from the top of mound we were standing on for at least a good 150 feet.
This happen to be our last Park Quest for "The Traveling Trio", rounding out our season for a total of 14 out of 24 parks completed, not too shabby for our first year, definitely look forward to next year, providing we get thru during the registration process. Enjoy!
